I’m obsessed with the Chanel costume jewelry for Fall. The colors are rich deep jewel tones. There are bangle bracelets and multi-chain necklaces that will go with any outfit. I just went to a seminar about how the jewelry is made and learned some very interesting things. Did you know that every piece of costume jewelry and button from Chanel is hand made and never repeated?

Desrues is the creator of costume jewelry, buttons, hardware, and other ornamentation for Chanel. The factory is located outside Paris in a small village and employs around 300 people. Many hours are spent creating just one piece of jewelry, and each artisan is a master in one step of the process. Fashions Night Out (FNO) in NYC is September 8^th It is a night of after-hours shopping and events where shoppers can mingle with celebrities and designers. FLOOR 2: From 6-8pm – Stella McCartney models will be modeling the latest looks. Digital polaroid cameras on hand will capture images of guests with the models. These will then be uploaded onto Stella McCartney and Saks facebook sites and the link sent to guests so they can tag themselves. Unique Stella truffles will be handed out to guests. Floor 2 will also celebrate luxury brand Pringle of Scotland and feature personal appearances with designer Alistair Carr, as well as actress Tilda Swinton, Louise Wilson from Central Saint Martin, famed jewelry designer Waris Ahluwalia, and photographer Ryan McGinley.

FLOOR 3: Designer Christian Cota will be collaborating in digital painting with guests from 6-7pm. Christian will sign painting prints. Personal appearances from designer Doo Ri from 8-9pm and Prabal Gurung from 7:30-8pm.

FLOOR 4: 6-11pm – Vogue.com and Lenovo partner for an official FNO Blogger Lounge.

FLOOR 5: DJ Questlove will be spinning while guests can DIY hair wraps with Erica Domesek of PS- I Made This. Chris Lospalluto of the Sally Hersberger Salon to place wraps in hair. Additionally, Rebecca Minkoff and The Manrepeller host The Rebecca Minkoff Hair Braiding Bar from 6-8pm. Choose your braid and personalize it with strips of Rebecca Minkoff leather. Get Minx Nails from manicurist Lisa Logan applying prints on nails at Marc by Marc Jacobs from 6:00- 9:00pm. Also, designer Yigal Azourel will partner with surf brand Sundeck to “surf” in store, on virtual simulators. Guests can surf and check out the great Sundeck surfboards and merchandise. J. Brand Jeans will be designing customs jeans all night. Meet J Brand CEO/Founder Jeff Rudes, and get the exclusive J Brand for FNO Coated Shocking Pink Super Skinny Jean. 100% of J Brand’s net proceeds from the jean to be donated to NYC AIDS Fund in the NY Community Trust.

FLOOR 6: 6:30-8:30pm – The Harlem Gospel Choir will be performing. Ne-Yo’s exclusive hat line will be for sale.
