In 2008, Proenza Schouler introduced its first shoe and handbag collection, including the PS1, a classic satchel that embodies a sense of wearable luxury that has become the brand’s signature. The PS1 is inspired by old work-wear satchels, but reinterpreted with soft and lux leather. The name of the bag is a play on Proenza Schouler, and the New York City public schools (PS).
Did You Know – The rich leather gets it’s color through more environmental friendly vegetable dyes. Proenza Schouler was awarded the Accessory Designer of the Year at the 2009 CFDA Fashion Awards, and has been nominated again in the same category for 2010-2012.
